Just a week ago

Just a week ago we were watching snow fall at our home and the announcement that school was cancelled for Monday morning. Today it was around 80 degrees and not a snow flake to be seen. We even ventured out to Falls Park for a St. Patricks day festival at the suspended bridge downtown Greenville. Packed with people and lots of dogs we walked more than 6 blocks from our car to the one day festival. Elena is now at the age where she doesn't want to go anywhere without a friend. Stephanie came along and the two girls grunted and complained about the long walk back to the car especially my child and how she felt a pain in her side. UGH! LOL These two 14 year old girls acted like they were our age!! LOL But in spite of it all I think they had a good time. For Christmas I was presented by a picture and copy of the plaque of a bench purchased in the Park in my mom's memory by my new brother inlaw Wendell. We found the bench and took pictures. Elena knew right where it would be located and it saddened her that some one had etched graffiti into the wooden seat.

It was such a nice weekend. I understand there is some colder weather coming next weekend but nothing like snow. The kids already have to make up 2 snow days. One being this month and another for the Monday after spring break.

Above is the plaque that is on the bench.
* Update on my niece who is pregnant. She had a real good visit with her doctor last week and he has taken her off of bed rest but she is to only do light duties. So, this will be good that she will be able to 'enjoy' the rest of her pregnancy with little boy Graham until his arrival on July 4Th.
Well, here is hoping this coming week is less chaotic and that my other niece has a happy 18Th birthday!
